At Cotton Tree Dental, we believe that introducing your child to the dentist at an early age (we recommend around 3 years old) will ensure their teeth develop normally, remain clean and free of cavities. Educating children about dental health from a young age will help in developing life-long skills to keep their smile healthy and aid in preventing the need for major work when they are older.

We recommend 6 monthly visits for your child to ensure their oral health is maintained, and if a problem is detected early, treatment and cost involved can be kept to a minimum. We understand there is often nervousness and fears when coming to the dentist, so we work hard to ensure your child has a comfortable and positive experience every visit.

The Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) provides access to a range of services for children between the ages of 2 and 17 years. These services include examinations, cleaning, x-rays, fillings, root canal treatment, and extractions. Eligible patients have access of a benefit cap of $1000 over a two year period. The CDBS has a means test, requiring a receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A or a relevant Australian Government payment. To claim services with us, simply bring along your medicare card and we can process your claim on the spot!

You can check your child's eligibility by calling one of our friendly staff members, along with your medicare card details, or by visiting the Department of Human Services website:
